In order to fix this clear issue with TikTok’s moderation policies, my proposal is to rewrite TikTok’s community guidelines and remove the blatant ambiguity, and encourage a change in the AI moderation to focus on looking at a whole scenario, not just a part. A change is also needed in the appeals process, as clear evidence suggests a human might not even be a part of that process.

In doing so, the content and interactions on TikTok can still be moderated, but in a better and fairer way so that everyone can be themselves, and TikTok can remain a safe place. The appeals process will be fairer, and there will be no random speculation or outrage as to why some things are left up, and other pieces of content are removed.
