TikTok Moderation Policies and Community Guidelines
How It Works
Community Guiedlines
The community guidelines are basically the cheat sheets for the AI moderators and the human moderators. It lays the foundation for what is and is not allowed on TikTok, including comments, posts, and other interactions. It’s a long list of rules and guidelines for posting content, but despite it’s length, its so ambiguous, half of it could just be left up for interpretation.
AI And Human Moderators
The moderation AI is the first thing that scans all content for blatantly obvious violations, such as obvious nudity or gore, or very visible hate symbols and hate speech. The AI uses the community guidelines to base it’s judgement, and if it believes the video is ambiguous, it sends it off to the human moderators to look at. But it can be pretty easily fooled by very common tactics to hide comments and other content violations.
